I uploaded a couple of more photos to my Members Photo Section. Dave Rice of Ohio derived them from old designs, and built the prototypes as well. He isn't online yet, so I posted them.
Mandarin 2 - a quirky little plane derived from the Mandarin CL design by Ruggiero. It has 190 in. sq, .061 Norvel AME, 4 FMA s-100, JR 610 RX, weighs 20.5 Oz. (OUCH!!) We now know where an easy 5 Oz. of weight can be saved. It flies very well, but suffers from a too high wing loading. Aerobatics are very good, and it is fairly fast, but the vertical is not rocket like. No drawings yet ( a second, LIGHTENED prototype is in the works)
TigerSport- a great sportflyer derived from the Lil' Tiger (in truth, almost none of the original design is still there). 220 in sq., 17.5 Oz. 4 HS-55 servos, FMA extreme Rx, 300 mAh NIMH. The only thing we did wrong was to make it too big. It will do anything you ask aerobatic wise, but the vertical is not what we hoped for. It needed to be sized for about 175 in. sq- theres just too much plane for a .061 to pull around aggressively. If anyone wants drawings, these are ready. Again, a regular email will work better for me.
