Anyone know that vintage of these parts? What in the world was the screen and the hose clamp stuff for?[>:]

The screens & slotted sleeves around the cylinder were added to reduce the tendency to start fires when priming. That's why they've had the "twin slit" exhaust ports in all the RTF stuff for years. Y'know, liability and all that stuff.

I think C is an adjustable exhaust throttle sleeve from a car application and D is just a standard Cox exhaust throttle sleeve.

I allways thought the screens (used on cars) were to keep dirt (sand) out of the cylinder? At least it made sense to me....
