John,

Back away from the engines...NOW! You scored a Venom at the swap????? Are you sure? Black Widow style tank with a RED anodized crankcase. It will have a very different crankshaft with a drilled crankpin. Dude post a picture please. Anyways a Cox Venom and Killer Bee are really the same engine power wise. The Venom is a Killer Bee with a tank and a different cylinder. This is straight form Larry Renger...ex Cox engine designer.

Later,
Tim

Yup!! Killer Bee's (the first model with yellow crankcase, good crankshaft) are very good engines as a matter of fact. The newer ones are just old product engines.

If you got yourself Venom, and it is a true Venom, SELL IT! Cpllectors are paying hundreds of dollars for them, that buys a lot of other engines.... td's, medallians, bw's etc...

The Venom is way too valuable for running now, especially if you have the box and paperwork. Gues are right NUTS for what they are paying for them on ebay!

I just picked up 3 of the good killer bee's (old California Cox) at a local hobby shop. They had been there for a long time and he was ready to get rid of them. Glad I happened to see them! Every once in a while you just get lucky I guess.

John,

The top picture is the DragonFly, Middle picture the Black Widow of course and the bottom is a current product engine off one of their current C/L planes.
