HI FASTLASH! I was looking for the "all of the above" button to push! I think he is growing a beard to look more like COMRADE MARX! The CRYING SHAME about COX TDS is I can make them run with the rest of the pack, but the ball socket will ALWAYS disintegrate when I exceed 25K for any given amount of time. I need to buy a metal detector to find all the COX parts that I've thrown from engines that have exploded. The scenario of landing an extremely tail heavy combat plane that's missing everything from the cylinder forward got real tiresome [especially when you're in a money round] so that's when the NORVELS started looking real good! There is still something so very familiar about the little *******s[COX] that I can't completely divorce myself from, it's probably more about the learning curve to get them to run that is hard to walk away from. FASTLASH, you are one of the few guys in this area who I've met who has had good results with the first edition AMES. DRISKILL has pointed out that they had tight crank fits in the early days, and I have a junk pile of gouged pistons from the early AMES, not only I, but several other combat flyers. Since they have come out with REVLITE all has been good! Makes me wonder how good their .40 is? BTW, Do you ever show up at MARYMOORE PARK?

I have run the norvel .40 and it is a power house !!!! It out performes my MVVS and my Enya!! I would recomend a long and castor filled break in on all of the Norvel motors. It will make all the diference in the world!! My norvel .40 will fly 9 min wide open on a 5 oz tank.

Hi Gator --

Do you have some tach numbers for us and perhaps some details on the breakin procedure you used.

Thanks,

the "other" Andrew

Although it is larger than we see in this forum, as a NORVEL user, I would be interested. Might start another thread so it doesn't Hijack FastLash's discussion on DickeyBird coming out of the COX closet!!

I dunno... DB's love for everything Cox is the thing that keeps me going each day I wake up

I dont think I can stand to see him jump ship!!

I have had an AME 061 and a BMig 074 for a few months now and I havent even been able to get myself in the mood to run them yet... the cox parts in the same drawer allways seem to get in the way

Say it aint so DB!!![X(]

After he saw one of my NORVEL'S scream around on the front of a 1/2A Shrike at last year's SMALL event in Little Rock, he knew the real deal about Norvel's. The truth was hard to avoid when it was IN HIS FACE!!!!!

Besides, VODKA is so much more "High Class" than BEER.

Vodka is good for cleaning engines after you dork them in the dirt.....

Here in CANADA we like our beer. Its not a problem keeping it cold either...

Well, IĀ“m back from my deserved vacation and I wanto to say hello to everybody.

Here where I live Vodka is for the winter and Beer for the summer, I donĀ“t know if this concept could be applied to engines. For me the only reason to choose a norvel instead a Cox is the throttle and I donĀ“t think that DB has this kind of problem.

Also thereĀ“s cheap Vodka and premium quality BEER ;-)

Hey Combat,

I would't doubt that the Russian Mafia and the Tennessee Mafia are Drinking vodka and signing deals as we speak.

I know he would never go for it and as punishment for he's refusal to merge the two factions and motors, they probably have him under the bright, hot lights right now!!

I think they got him and are torturing him with those little electrodes stuck to his head, yes that must be it. I saw it once in a movie, their trying to make him forget about his long cox heritage.
I'm afraid that when they get done with him, he won't even know what a film cannister is even for. They may go as far as making him think he is a furniture maker and that CNC balsa cutting machine is just for extra lite chairs.
If that doesn't work they might put that little worm into his ear to take over his mind once and for all,,, ON MAN!! NOT THE WORM!!!!
It is just to horrible to think of!!

Oh well, back to the airplanes?

Putting that aside, hey combatpigg, how are you getting those kind of r's from the tds?
I would like to have one so hot that it flys apart, I would be willing to take the chance with a motor or two.
PM me with and dump your gut load of secrets!!!
What me drunk? Sorry I just don't drink much, I have to baby sit these thoughts sober!!
