Define 1/2A
Very dumb question. I hear the term 1/2A, what does this mean exactly? I fly a couple planes one powered by a .10 and the other powered by a .15 Is 1/2A much smaller? I like small planes, they fit in my back seat

Define 1/2A
The post is "What does 1/2A really mean?", on page 2 of this fine forum. I stole this from another very smart person, who stole it from the AMA....
Page 2 of Outdoor Free Flight section of AMA competition regulation lists the classes.
1/2A: 0 to .050
A: .051 to .20
B: .21 to .30
C: .31 to .46(I think)
D: .47 to .67
As stated before, the .049's hadn't been made till after the original classes were established. The availability of these small engines forced AMA to either come up with a whole new class system or create the class known as 1/2-A.
