Default Servo Size (torque)

Wasn't sure where to put this post. I figured this forum would be most familiar with the micro and mini servos.
I'm using Hitec HS-81's for a small airplane. I planned on using an 81 for the throttle on the .10 size engine. The servo is too tall and stands above the wing saddle line. Will an HS-55 have enough torque for the throttle on a .10 size engine?

Thanks,
-Rocko

HI NIGHTZ! If your throttle is moving freely with no binding, then the HS55 will work . Use real fine music wire .030 or so, and make sure that you put a V shaped kink in the wire to allow for extra servo travel when the throttle is at it's end points.

As long as the system has very little drag in it there's no reason you can't use an HS55 on any engine up to the 1/4 and 1/3 scale engines. Usually the throttle have almost no drag in them unless they use O ring seals. For those you'd need something a little bigger... maybe.

Thanks for the help. This throttle has very little friction. I will try the HS-55. Thanks again.
