HS 55 Servo Question
I know that this topic has bee treated many times before but for some reason I couldn´t find any of the previous posts. The question is the following: I have 36 " high wing trainer TD .049 powered with 2 std servos, now I have the possibility to change it to 3 channels, and I want to know if it possible to use the hs 55 or this kind of plane is too much, and must use the hs 81. Thanks. Regards
Claudio

RE: HS 55 Servo Question
If you are just flying around nice and easy, the HS 55 should do ok for you. If you are going to fly it hard, then the HS 81 would be a better choice. If any of the servos are going to be located on a nose wheel or a tail wheel that could be jerked around a lot, again I would use the HS 81 in that location.

RE: HS 55 Servo Question
Claudio,
Like 2fast said I guess it depends on how you fly. I have all HS-55's in my planes. In my little PeeWee .020 power Guided Mite they did just fine. In my LS 150 they did fine also. But I stripped the gears out on one servo in my Sniper plane after about 30 flights. It was on the ailerons so maybe I need something alittle more HD there. On a trainer I would think they should be ok. If you can get the HS-81's go of it too!
LAter,
Tim

RE: HS 55 Servo Question
Thanks for the information, I will go for the HS 81, the only problem is that I have to wait for 2+ weeks for the HS 81 and only 3/4 days for the HS 55. Regards.

RE: HS 55 Servo Question
Combatpigg,
Have you tried the fuel tubing trick for vibration isolation with the HS-55s? In case you're not familiar with what I mean, a fellow flyer told me to cut a small section of fuel tubing and put it between the mounting ear on the servo and the rail/tray in the airframe before affixing the servo. I'm curious about this because I have a few hs55s I'd like to recycle from their current electric home into a simple series t-6.

RE: HS 55 Servo Question
I ordered the HS 81, because I plan to transfer them to a Cloud kitten .15 (still in the drawing board), and buy some HS 55 for the .049 when I quit the non healthy habit of crash every time I fly . Regards.
