Default What's a good engine for the Mach None?

I'm finally getting around to building my Mach None I picked up last year. I have a MVVS .15 rear exhaust for it but I'm thinking it may be a bit too big/heavy and require too much modification for this plane.

I'm leaning toward a TD .09 or Norvel .074. Any suggestions? I want the most power and least weight if possible. I'm thinking the TD .09 is lighter and more powerful than the Norvel. Is this correct?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

I like the .074 because you have a throttle and tank pressure provided by the muffler.

I always used the TD .051 on mine. The Norvel .061 would also be good.

Keep it light and you don't need an .09 for it to scream.

I had so much fun with mine with the 09. It was my first VTO plane. I also had a Queen bee in one. I did like the throttle so the 0.074 sounds good too. If you can keep it less then 15 oz the 0.061 would be good..

The MVVS 15 would be my choice! If you have to sink a full depth spar into the wing, and take an inch off the front end, MAKE IT SO!!!

at almost 7 oz. bare the MVVS is kinda heavy but it sure does scream. if you do what CP suggests then be sure to replace the carb with a CL venturi and bladder, don't need no stinkin throttle and be sure to run a real pipe, that tuned silencer thing is only good for a measly 500 RPM...

watch for flutter if you use the 15, my x-15 one hummed noticeably. I would use the 074 norvel, but that's me use whatever you want! by the way, the norvel 25 bigmig fits in the same mount and holes as the mvvs 15... and is about the same weight... used to use mvvs 15's on my ferroplanes til the 25 came out. took off the 15, put on the 25, been running them since! here is a pic of 2 15 ones, one rear and one side exhaust. 36" span, about the same size as mach none. ran about 90 w/ mvvs, 116 with bigmig 25.
