why spell cox 'c*x'????
What gives with some folks spelling cox with an asterix? Is there some legit reason? It's alot harder to hit the shift and eight key to make an asterix than just to type an 'o', so with that much effort, there must be some reason- I just can't think of it..
It doesent have anything to do with 'cocks' does it? I mean, beavis and butthead has been off the air for quite some time now..huh huhhh.. ummm ....ok..
Is it to thwart the search engine? what?

C*x? Goes 'way back here. It's just a mild dig by the Norvellites against the Cox lovers, the implication is that Cox is a vulgarity. All in good fun.
Back when the rivalry was at its peak there was a classic thread, I think Milton Dickey (Dickeybird) did it, a pictorial report about the Armies of Good King Cox capturing a Nasty Norvellite spy. Maybe he can find it, I'd like to see it again.
Bill.

Ahh good, I was thinking that maybe I was doing something wrong by spelling cox 'cox'. I gathered from the context the asterix type cox appered in that it was not a term of flattery..
Sounds like it is sort of beavis/butthead derived.

I did a search Bill and finally found the thread you referred to. I took a quick look but didn't see Cox spelled that way. Lots of funny stuff posted by everyone, that's for sure! You newbies that haven't seen it ought to go check it out: http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_54.../tm.htm#546634

DICKEYBIRD,
You are correct. Larry Renger started it and Joe Wagner would type it just as Larry had typed it in Larry's postings to SMALLnet. Others picked up on it and did it that way for awhile. I think Larry may be the only one still doing it, not sure.
I sure miss the old SMALLnet postings.

Yup, it was my doing. And, considering what the current management has done to the Killer Bee, Black Widow and Tee Dees, not to mention the obscene prices, I think a lot of other people agree with the spelling.
