?'s on upping the LS150 to 200%...
Thanks again for all the help, this forum is great!
Here is my question, if I want to bump up the LS150 to 200% size to put a .10 in it, where within the structure should I also double the widths of the stock used? ie should the panel width of the fuse sides go from 1/16 balsa to 1/8 balsa? Should the wing spars go from 1/8 sticks to 1/4 sticks? Firewall thickness doubled? Thanks again!!

Maybe 3/32 on the fuse sides.(1/16 would probably be fine) Spars should be upsized about the same amount. I usually use 1/8x1/4 spruce for that size a plane. Other sizes in the same region should be ok. 3/16 ply for the firewall should be plenty. Ribs could be 1/16 or 3/32. All other sheeting could be 1/16.

1/16 for ribs, 1/8 light Cgrain for the tails, same for sides, 1/16 top and bottom rear sheet, 1/8x1/4 spruce spars webbed on front for full span and back to 1/2 span, firm to hard 1/16 for webs. 1/8 or 3/16 for firewall and 3/32 firm for upper and lower nose sheeting back to wing and landing gear. 1/32 ply doublers L shaped to cover about 1 1/2 inches at the firewall and with the lower leg extending back to about 2 inches behind the landing gear mount plate. 3/32 ply for the LG plate. 1/4 sq firm balsa leading edge laid in diamond orientation and trailing edge set up as required for ailerons or if RET then use 1/4 sheet and make it as wide as required to fit the airfoil.
For a 200% blowup you're probably going to want to thin the fuselage sections. Otherwise it's going to come out about 4 or more inches deep at the wing leading edge. Kinda porky looking at that point. I'd fudge it down to about 3 1/2 x 3 or so.

IMO If you want to upsize a plan for a 10 size stick on a scratch build I would go with Andrew Donatelli's (AKABipeflyer) 1/2A stick. I think it's a much better looking plane. I think he's going to post plans on his websight Blackflightmodels.com
Hey Bipe, If I spelled your name wrong sory, and if I jumped the gun on the websight thing sory.

I have a plan that is 178% and it seems about right for a .10, you could go a lot larger than that for power. I asked to have it copied at 175% but it turned out a little over that.
It has a 8 inch chord at that size and should be a real floater.

Darren,
Thanks for the compliment on my Stick. I prefer the more classic Ugly Stick thin fuselage too. I guess when Fred Reese designed the Littlest Stick he had to make it roomy enough to accommodate an escapement and the receivers available at that time.
You spelled my name correctly, but you got the website wrong. It is http://www.blackflight.com
I'll try and get the plan up in the next week or so. Of course scaling to any size can be done with my Tile Print program.
