Default Fuel shut off?

Hi Guys

I'm looking for a light simple fuel shut off for a .15 powered project. Any ideas?

Default RE: Fuel shut off?

I guy in our combat group who uses a pressure/bladder tank on his Open B models just uses a short (maybe one inch) piece of music wire that is fixed on one end and is attached to a servo on the other - via thin music wire. The fuel tubing passes under the wire closer to the fixed end and the shutoff is a simple 'pull' from the servo.

The carb throttle is fixed full open and starts and runs that way the whole time.

Just remember to release the servo tension as soon as the engine quits.

If you wanted to have use of the throttle I guess you could set up the pinch-off to work when the trim was all the way down.

Thanks Ray

I have considered that idea, but was hoping for something commercial. I have no carb so that isn't an issue.

Go with a fixed fuel pick up line and roll inverted when you want it to quit.

Try contacting Bob Hartwig at
[email protected]
I believe he makes a simple shutoff for use in SAM oldtimers....it's a simple wire loop that pulls the fuel line into a tube and kinks it off.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. Gollywock found the perfect solution at Texastimers.com. It's called a remote pinch off.

Thanks again

Red,
How did this work out for you? Were you able to drive it with a servo, and if so, what sort of power did the servo require?
