Ok, got to looking at this thing a little closer after talking to Mclintock. Maybe somebody can help em out here as my Russian is poor .
I thought this was an AME from the 'AMD' marking on the side of the case. However, I looked inside and its a 5 ported engine so it has to be a Big Mig. Now I am really confused as I thought the 'AMD' mark meant it was an AME, or maybe I'm all crossed up?

On the earlier 1 piece crankcases, the Russian Cyrillic letters appeared. These translated roughly to AMD and stood for Aviation Model Engine (авиации модельный двигатель). The letters were later replaced with the English displacements for .049 and .061. Both the AME and BigMig look outwardly the same, so checking the ports is the only means of determining which one you have.
NORVEL (Northern Velocity) originally got into the import business to supply high performance controlline engines and the English equivalent AME was applied. When they later got into production of the BigMig, the designation AME was retained to differentiate between the high performance engine and the kinder, gentler BigMig.
Hope this helps.

Thanks, for the info. I had been referencing an older post on Norvel Evolution and got crossed up by that.
