Default J3 Cub in marketplace any good?

http://www.rcuniverse.com/market/item.cfm?itemId=52134

Has anybody tried this plane? 47" wingspan, 30" long, everything included, etc. For $55 and ARF it seems like a steal! I have a Norvel .074 handy, would it do the job?

I think an .074 would do nicely. The one in the picture I attached is about the same size and it flies fine with a Norvel .061.

I wonder why it comes with a 380. I see a fuel tank and engine mount in the picture.

Looks like a good buy to me, you can hardly buy a kit and covering for that much, an Ace simple series and a roll of covering is $50 ......Rog
.074 is such a sweet running engine

This guy is only 20 miles from the house, maybe I should go get one for a 'review'.....

Yeah that's the ticket, a review on RCU, that's what I'll tell her when she catches me with it.....

Thanks for the replies. I'll get it on my next paycheck. I emailed the guy and asked a few questions, here's the latest email:

"first of all good morning to you, i hope i can be as
helpful as possible, regarding the j3 cub, its a very
good model and on the airfoil the bottom is flat,
there are wholes cut out in the horizontal stabelizer
and the fuse is basiclly stick and ply. very
nice, except the sides of the plane dont have windows
,only the front windshield is available but if you
want it to have windows on the sides, its not that bad
at all you know. it takes speed 400 and 4 servos .
thanks again neil"

No windows on sides: That made me wonder because the first pic shows windows. Notice that the wing number is NC81866. Now look at the other two pictures - those are NC81855. In one of the NC81855 pics, where it shows the entire airplane plus a bag of accessories, a close look shows that there are no side windows, only the square opening for the windsheild. So in the email I think he was referring to the NC81855 plane. I just got a Futaba Skysport tx on ebay for $25 so I think I'll use these!

Rog- just goes to show how cheap stuff really is - and how much it costs to get all this stuff from a 'brand name'.
