Sobayakin "Stinger" for Glow....WOOHOO!
Hi all,
Pictures of my latest conversion of an electric model to glow power.
Very sweet with the TD 0.020 on the front, and the reduced wing loading (relative that used for Speed 400 pylon racing) makes this model a dream to fly!
Cheers,
Dave
P.S. Am perfectly happy to post more details if ya'll are interested....

Ummm, call it "ground modified"..... [&o]
First flights were made with the Cox grey put on backwards. Later flights this week will be with APC props on the right way.

Hiya Dris, I knew you'd be interested!
Tank = TeeDee tank
Servos = GWS Pico+BB on elevator and aileron and both were fully soft-mounted using the supplied rubber grommets etc. to minimiose the impact of vibration.
Battery = 4 cell 270 mAH AAA in long configuration (i.e. ==)
Model can be bought from http://www.icare-rc.com/stinger.htm (note: I bought mine second-hand MUCH MUCH cheaper via an online auction, even though it was in a tragic state of disrepair when I got it). Need to add aileron torque rods and install servos.
Simple modification to mount the engine is by cutting back the nose extension to the level of the firewall and then simply drill and tap the kevlar/carbon firewall 2-56 for the engine mount bolts. The TD installation was simply as a stop-gap measure until the model is all trimmed out. Once I've got it all sorted, plan is to move the battery and rx (which are currently right up in the nose) closer to the CG and mount a Cylcon or Radial-mounted VA MkII on the front with a bladder mounted nicely in that skinny nose. That'll be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!
Not sure of the weight but will weigh up tonight.
Cheers,
Dave
