Cox parts I need
Hi all
I am new to this forum, and it is great to see one dedicated to smaller planes.
There are some things I need for my old cox motors if anyone has these items or can direct me to a source.
TD 049 crank cases, I need 2
Reed valve 049 cyclinder and piston sets, mufflers, throttles.
Reed vavle 02 tank back plate.
Possibly a medallion 09 crank case, this one is still usuable but showing its age.
A source of glow heads for under a gazillion dollars a piece.
Thank you all
Willie

RE: Cox parts I need
Willie,
It shouldn't be to hard to score what you are looking for. Call Cox/Estes for most of it. The TD case, .020 backplate and .049 cylinder/piston sets Cox still sells. You will need to know which .049 cylinder/piston set you want as all of the .049 cylinders interchange. The .09 parts might be alittle harder to get. As for glow heads switch up to the Galbreath(?sp) head and Nelson plug from Kitting it Together. The head is around $10 but the plug is $3 or $4 each. I plan to change to this on all of my Cox .049 glow engines as soon as I get off my butt and do it. This set up works very well and will increase the output of the engine unlike other reg. plug adaptors do.
Later,
Tim
