Hi Muddy, there are a couple of versions, 14" and 18". I hope this link works for you.

They're a couple of inches smaller in span than my 020 powered Roaring 20. I thought that was tiny!

muddy,

Do a search here and you will find a thread or two on the Guided Mite. At least two of us built one last year or the year before. Just a neat little plane.

Later,
Tim

The original Guided Mite by Bob Coon, FM April 1958. It's wingspan is about 21-1/8".

i built one a wile back...it weight in at 7ozs...it flew ok but a little slugish...if i was to build another iwoulduse lighter wood than the plan calls for...1/16 sheet sides with 1/16 as doublers...also i would use lighter wood for the bulk heads...but i would not make holes in the sides to lighten it...the dope finnish on theses models really makes them look their age even tho there build in the present...

build one and have a ball...

I don't have the original plans for the mite, I found one for a profile electric version on the internet. I am using the basic outline for the wings, fuse, etc. to make my own plans. That was the reason for the wingspan question. I like the old designs, the way they look and fly(most of the time), but they are built for crashing, so I like to change the wood sizes and construction techniques. I don't mind if its not built the same, just as long as there is a good resembance.
