RE: unknown cox
Well it's not Cox that's all I know. The only beam mounted engines Cox made are the Space Hoppers and TD/Medallions. It does seem to use a Cox cylinder and head though. Most likely a home cast case from the looks of it. Oddly enough though it looks alot like the drawing I made a year ago for an idea I had about getting some cases cast for me right down to the webs on the front of the case. Is that moss growing on it

It sort of looks like an Aurora with a different cyl and backplate.
Maybe it's a BSB .049
There is a drawing here about half way down the page. http://www.mh-aerotools.de/airfoils/cox_wanted.htm

RE: unknown cox
I don't know, the webs on the front of the case are to long for a K&B. Plus check out the lug mounts???? It would be easy for someone with the right tools to make a Cox look alike cylinder. I wonder if it's a reed intake or what it has going on there in the rear. BigChap is this engine over there in the UK?

That engine is a Keil-Kraft "Cobra" .049 made in Hornchurch, Essex, England sometime in the 1960's.
I don't know how many they made but it was not up to Cox standards for performance so it is probably fairly rare and valuable today.
A lot of engines that don't measure-up have a tendancy to fall by the wayside...which means there are fewer around.
Clean it up and show it off.
