Good 1/2a Online Stores
I normally get most of my big RC stuff at Tower Hobbies. However, they don't have a great 1/2a section. What is a good online store that has good quality, selection, and prices. Also, what are some nice scale 1/2a planes. I am not talking about "fun scale" I mean full blown very detailed scale. Thanks.

1/2A scale
Try hobbypeople.net, they offer different manufacturers' smaller
stuff. Hobby-Lobby also sells some good looking warbirds, though
a lot of them are foam. I'm currently building a House of Balsa 1/2A P-51 Mustang that I will detail out pretty good. The limiting
factor to consider when adding full detail to a 1/2A size plane is
the weight. I'm adding retracts to the Mustang, which will add
about 3 oz. to the total. That's a considerable amount of weight
to add to a model that should fly best at around 25oz. I'm leaving
out the rudder control and opting for just ailerons and elevator.
Some people will sheet the entire wing so as not to have the ribs
showing through the covering. This again adds the weight, but
gains the more scale appearance. It's usually give and take, if you
want a super-scale looking model that has a terrible wing loading
or a more docile flyer that's missing some scale detail, like retracts
and a hidden muffler/engine. If you take the time to build it real
light, then you can have your cake and eat it too!
