RE: House of balsa .051-.10 war birds
Hey, I built a HOB P-51 years ago and it was a really nice looking plane but there was alot of sanding and shaping block balsa to get it right. That was my 3rd airplane kit and it was a fun
build. It was underpowered with a medallion .049 and iffy hand launches, but after about 50 ft
it hauled ass! It tracked like it was on rails. Careful not to let it get too far away, seems I was always in a turn. It had only 2 channels (ele+ail) and a two oz tank. It seemed to run forever on 2 oz. A 1 oz tank would have been better for 8 min flights. Good Luck. BTW, the silver color and invasion stripe themes are hard for me to see, then and now. I just built an Ace simple P-51 and covered the fuse yellow with navy blue tailfeathers and wing, That I can see and it looks
great. Norvel .061BigMig powered with a 1 oz tank.
