slow down my .049
I have the simplest aircraft I have ever made, it’s nothing more than an arrow shaft & a Wal-Mart foamy covered with packing tape. I like to fly it at lunch in the soccer fields but I noticed it is very fast & I do not like this.
I used to fly it with speed 400s but they suck the batteries dry in less than 8 min
What can I do to slow this down without loosing too much performance?
The motor is .049 Cox cheapo special.
The up weight is 8oz
I was thinking of putting a higher drag wing on it but I like the idea of being able to smashing it into the ground & not having any significant damage (foamy) Non foamy I think would make it heavy & crash happy
As you can see I smashed it up good
Any Ideas?

RE: slow down my .049
If you put a 6x2 prop on there, that will put you down in the high 30 mph to low 40 mph range. You can also take a COX rubber prop and twist the blades to reduce the pitch. Putting the prop on backwards will slow you down too. For a knock around model, those rubber props are the best way to go. APC has a great selection of props at their website, but those props are fragile.
