Default .061 fuel?

I'm sorry if this has been asked many times.

Hopefully some time this week I will be getting a norvel .061 but i'm unsure what fuel to use. I have a few other bigger planes that I use omega 15% nitro on but I read that I can't use this fuel with this engine. I also run RC cars and trucks using trinity monster brew that has 20% nitro and 16% oil castor and syn mix. Would the car fuel work if I just add some more castor oil to it. I didn't think you could run car fuel in planes but this would be easyier for me than getting another type of fuel.

Thank for the help!

The car fuel will be fine with some extra castor, 2 extra ozs per quart.

I own several Norvels and 30% nitro is the way to go. I run 30% heli fuel with no problem.

Most of the guys racing 1/2 A's around these parts are using 30% Heli or Magnum #2 which is about 28%.

What the heck's wrong with Omega? so it's 50-50, BFD...I run my Norvels on it and they're fine. 15% is a tad low, and I only use it on my .074s, but it'll work in the .061. However, I use Byron 25% for my .049/.061 Norvels, even though all castor, it's (gasp!) 16%.

taken from Norvel.com tech articles.

Pros
There are other brands of fuel that we recommend. Omega from Morgan fuels, K&B 500 or 1000, Sig Champion, Wildcat 1/2A, Byron's 1/2A, and Cox fuel all seem to work well.

Cons
Coolpower from Morgan fuels, Byron's non- 1/2A fuel, and Powermaster fuels have been reported by some customers to cause problems with our engines.

Another is the AP fuels. They are in three nitro content, and the lower two (15% and 25%) are full 20% castor, I use the 25% nitro with the Cox motors, it works great. Nice as it is ready right from the can, no extra oil needed.

BTW, The norvel engines will run fine on 0% nitro. Because nitromethane is illegal in Russia!
