Rog,
I hope to be there too- w/ a friend from another club down south ( Virginia that is ).
Some one asked if it would be possible to fly a little later in the day for those driving a good distance( I think it was PT) Is that possible? Thanks, Dale

I'll be there too. Just go to Minneapolis and hang a right...
Also I'll be bringing channel 46, or 16. Does that conflict with anyone else?
Hopefully will bring a little something I design just for the occasion.

Sorry for the delayed response. We just got back from a visit with the grandkids. I hope that I will have recovered by the first of October.
I'm on channel 55. I will bring the sodas and ice. I will bring tissues and a crying towel for all those people whom I humble in the Reedie Race. Sharkfaces rule! (Well, mine anyway).

Rog,
My Sharkface was "snappy" to start with but that cleared up when I reduced the rudder and elevator end points. If you still have yours I'd give it a try.
Yes, frequency control is a good thing. And not saying anything else about the AMA, the insurance is a good thing too.

RE: Carolina Crew Oct 1 1/2A funfly and race
Valiant Adversaries,
I was planning to surprise and amaze all the less fortunate entrants in the Reedy Race with the special improvements I have made to my Sharkface. These include brushing on a coat of no-friction-ium on the fuselage and squirting anti-gravity fluid between the rib bays. So far I have seen only a slight improvement in performance but the guy who sold me that stuff in a dark corner at Toledo said it might take a few flights for the full effect to take place.
However, I have another way in which I can bring misery and suffering to my Carolina 1/2A Crew Companions. You all know that I'm normally not one to "toot my own horn" so to speak but I doubt that any of you would dispute the fact that I am the pre-eminent expert in the field of needle-twiddling those beloved reed-valve engines (perhaps "dispute" is not the right word). I actually snickered to myself at the prospect of whizzing past the "competition" with the most excellently needled engine happily screaming its heart out. It was easy to picture my trusty 'Face leaving all others staggering in her wake.
But then I said, "ha ha ha, that it too easy and maybe Rog would get so depressed that he'd take his hot dogs home." Well, I couldn't let that happen, could I?
So I decided that I will just pretend to be "normal" like the rest of you guys, cuss at my Golden Bee, and restore my Sharkface to its original, un-doctored condition and try to make it look like it was just luck when - - - I whip your butts!!! Moohahahaaaaaaaaa.

Tim,
I had forgotten what a swell guy you really are! I'll make sure my wife is there - I'll have her bag packed and ready to go. Losing the Reedy Race, what a small price to pay. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
(Please, be careful who sees this!)

I just called Flyswatter. We're stripping the machine guns off and looking for old, worn cylinders. We've both also decided to bring our wives... some deals just can't be passed up!

OK Guys, I will make this short and personal. I will try to post a picture of the front of my little reedie racer with it's Tim Wiltse modified engine. It is hard for my camera to take such a picture as it already runs 60 MPH sitting on the work bench!! I do this because when the race starts the only time you will get a glance of it will be when I lap all of your racers!!!! No I am not after the trophy…. just bragging rights!!! HA!!

Dudes.... what the heck there is only so much of the Timster' to go around.....I'm not a machine for goodness sake
No..no really I hope to make the event. BobHH told me to dig in and not to forget what I love doing. I have the sheet racer from the spring all ready to fly. The engine(yes it's stock) that I made for it is sitting in a zip-loc bag after the test flights I made after this past springs event. So it's just a matter of screwing it back on and flying(which I haven't done since May),

Tim
