This was just one of those kits that seems like no matter what, its going to be tail heavy....It ballanced perfect with an O.S. 15 ! I ended up having to move to firewall forward 2" for the .061...

This one shows how cramped it is in there...
hs-81 for ailerons
2-hs-55 1 for throttle 1 for RUDDER
SLOOOWW ***** Expert servo for elevator..
Very groovy plane, loops , rolls, snap roles like no other( especially in a powered dive ) stall turns are pretty too....

.15? No way, I can't imagine even as over weight as it is , it pulls right out of my hand with no loss of altitude..Only using 15% sig fuel with an Apc 5.7x3...I don't have a scale, but I could probly save a good 4 or 5 ounces on the next one
This is a Pipsqueak, I'm sizing it for about 150sq/in and going for lightness

Is this the one that was featured as a Model Airplane News article? What do you think about a Norvel .074 in it? I really want to build mine from the plans I have, just can't find the time.

The baby Birdie is an old global kit for .049-.09...The wing is semi-symmetrical at the root and flat bottomed at the tips...Is this the plans you are talking about 2fast4u ??? I could take a pic of the plan to compare if ya want... I can't comment on the norvel .074 as mine lasted about 2 weeks before the rod broke ...But any engine bigger than a .061 and smaller then a .15 would perform very well...
I'd make another for a hot .09 if I could find one light enough..
Oh, I'm not sure if it was in MAN or not...

Seems that I got 2 really good .074's, cause mine run great and have lasted 2 years now. I hate to hear that the .074 is having problems staying together out there. The Norvel is a different engine to be sure.
My set of plans was ordered from MAN about a year or 2 ago. Seems it's flat bottom all the way, and the designer said the .074 would be just right. He did the article with the .061 R/C. I hope to be able to build mine before SMALL Steps next summer.
I need to go look at the plans, cause it may be a mini Kaos. I don't know!!! I'm lost today.
