Default OK Reedy Racers, Lets See Those Racers!!!

Guys, here is my entry. Yep a bit nostalgic but still a deadly racer!! Still in the vintage realm as this is a highly modified Rivets from Owen Kampen. What do you think? Lets see your racers.

Yep, just had shoulder surgery today and the pain meds are wearing off.
I wanted to test fly it this weekend but I will be one winging it for a few weeks. Still want to build a backup plane just in case it bites the dust. I do have my Jr Falcon with a Golden Bee on it for backup.

If I can make it, I'll bring this Sharkface fitted with a Golden Bee instead of the PAW .03. That is if it survives test flights w/ the GB. Trying to get in touch with a flying buddy to see if he will go so we can split the Gas expense. Used to be the motel was the big item, now it's the gas!

Are you guys seriously complaining about the cost of the gas to get there?!

Anyway, here's a shot of mine and Flyswatter's. (his is the exceptionally cool one!)

After looking at Tim's pic for about 5 min I finally found the plane[sm=bananahead.gif] Nice set of ....horns, yeah thats it horns.
Hollis, how far are you from Greenville? I remember meeting you at the Burlington meet, maybe we can get in an emergency flight session.

If I can get PT's short kit done in time I will bring it, otherwise the plank will need to do.

You keep giving my a/c compliments pt and I am not going to call you Spanky anymore!

Nice looking aeroplane Bob. Hope to meet you and see the plane in NC.

Tim, hope you and your plane are in NC. I will look forward to meeting you and all the NC guys there also.

Would show you a picture of my plane (other than the DN2U), but it is still in "process". I guess I will have to get cracking this week so I will be able to finish it and fly it several times before I get to NC. I think it will be a nice little, slow, overweight, comfortable type flyer like its pilot-owner (after all, who wants to go round and round like their pants are on fire anyway?).

Bob,

You know something the more I look at my sheet wing racer the more I hate it. Your plane looks like a plane!!!! I have a bunch of plans laying around here someplace for some 1/4 Midget planes. One of them is 3 plans in one type thing with the Ole' Tiger or something like that , Shoestring and 1 other outlines all in one. I figure scale it down, still do the sheet wing just because it's so easy to build. Plus it would give me alittle more fuse room for the radio because in the Sheet Wing Racer it's TIGHT!!!! I just don't know what to do. I am getting the urge to build something!!!!!!!! I have 2 NIB Norvels just sitting here too. One Big Mig and one AME .049(both c/l versions though) just begging for a home. I don't know I guess if the Norvel's had throttles I would use them but maybe I'll just build something for another Cox instead.

Later,
Tim

Hey Tim!! good to hear you got the urge to build again!,,hope you have the urge to get here in 4 more weeks?!..yeah I think maybe we all jumped on the .049 reedie band wagon too soon.. maybe next year we can use nnorvels or bring it up to .061 for the race..but it is Bob's race so we'll have to see how it turns out, I know it'll be a good time either way...Rog

Darn - another gentleman from NC! Patrick and I are going to have to rethink our whole approach to this fun-fly. Spanky has been telling me how you fellows were totally disreputable and capable of being just as conniving as us. (What an ugly thought!)

But now that I think about it, he might be right. These nice comments from you guys could be a ruse and you fellows may really be as tricky and bad as us. I just don't know what to believe. Why can't everyone be as straight and honest as us poor old Georgia boys?

Don't worry Tim. Flyswatter lived in New Jersey for so long that he acts like one.

Vic, are you saying that you're one of "THEM" too?

Oh c'mon boys some Yankees aint so bad... I'm really a Southerner at heart. I know New Orleans is pronounced Nawlins, and Louisville is really Loo'avul. I have butter on my grits, vinegar on my greens, and have even been known to drink Southern Comfort from a DIXIE cup. Heck, I even grew up in SOUTH Dakota!

Y'sir, I'm a real Son of the South.

Real drinkers know SC is a wanna be slip! Get over the kid stuff and go the full monte[sm=bananahead.gif]. dF, next time you come down you getting a proper southern hook-up! Holy kavoli are we way off topic[sm=bananahead.gif]. As the Carolina Crew Ambassador I will be meeting up with the GA contingent tomorrow, and prove them the lightweights they really are[sm=stupid.gif]. Even tho I am born and bred MI. My heritage is American Indian and Scotch. And that is just tonight.

CP, you're not far from wrong. Southern Comfort and milk is what you put kids to bed with around here...

Come on now guys, Southern Comfort in a DIXIE cup!!! That was REALLY funny! How much more "Suthurn" can you get!

How much further off-topic can we get? I'll save it a little. I've started building a GLH look-alike. Will it be my pylon racer? Dunno at this point, but I'm using an Ace taper wing and v-tail to spice it up a little. Thread and pics to come...
