It's been a while, but I think I drilled holes in the landing gear mount to get a long screwdriver through to the screws in the cabane struts.

My old ISP had a server crash. I changed ISPs and lost a lot of files. I'll have to get the plans uploaded again.

I agree with gbolton. It's great to see this thread revive. While I find so little time for R/Cing these days, I enjoy following the discussions and seeing the pictures of those who are able to make and fly their dreams.

Ok, I currenly have a saito 30 that I plan on putting on this pitts, but, I see that Horizon has saito 40's on sale. Do you think a saito .40 would be better for this pitts or would you still stick with a saito .30?

The Saito .30 is plenty of power. The .40 would be too much weight and would require a larger fuel tank, for which there is no room.

I wish I had my camera I would take a picture of the pitts I am building. maybe this weekend. Anyway, Thought I might post this ebay add I found. It is a pitts kit that looks to be very similar to these plans on this forum. Same size and everything, takes a .25 size motor but has a little bit bigger wingspan.

I got a camera and took a few pictures of what I got done of the fuselage so far. For the wings I am drawing in ribs and building it up because I dont have experience with cutting foam cores. I have to say this is one of the most funnest and most pleasing builds I have done in a while.

Looks great David. I'm glad you're enjoying the build as much as I'm enjoying seeing the pictures.

Just another bump to see if you have been able to get the plans for the Pitts back online.
Thanks,
Eric

A 2 litre pop bottle might even work. Yeah, plugs are the worst part of vaccum forming. Whenever I buy a canopy, I make a plaster cast so that I can vacuum form my own in the future.

Glad you like Tile Print.

Bipe, do you mind telling us how you do the plaster cast and how you prepare it to pull another canopy? Thanks much,
Jim

The little Pitts is approximately 1/7 scale.

I use plaster of paris - mixing it as per the instructions on the box and filling the canopy. When it is dry I use I glue on a 1/4" wood base that is slightly larger than the size of the plaster plug; this aids in removal after forming and helps support the plaster. The plaster works great as a plug because it picks up every detail and due to being porous it wont get bubbles between the plug and the plastic..

Thanks very much. I'll try this out myself...it could be really useful for old OOP kits.
