Default Norvel tank mount

Hi All.

Can someone tell me if the 1 oz. Norvel tank mount can be taken apart? I'm thinking of using one with a PAW 55 diesel and assume the clunk line is not compatible with diesel fuel.

TIA. Dennis in Maine.

There's no clunk. Just a brass pickup tube at the rear of the tank.

Ummmm, I'll have to go back and look at Norvel's site. I thought the larger tank had a flexible pickup.

Tks.

Yup, the extended tank specs mentions a clunk.

Dhanson, a friend (flyswatter) has one. Stick around, I'm sure he'll pipe up. I don't remember being able to take it apart, but I'm sure there's a provision for fixing the fuel line.

Bipe, I've got that one too. And they're darn nice. You can do just about any manuever you want till the tank is dry. But like the one in the picture, the little vent thingy pops out and is easily lost. The bigger one has the same little vent.

the bigger one has a push button tube on top for a filler vent and yes it comes in two pieces, the problem is once you cut a hole out big enough to mount the inner half,,(on 1/2a planes) theres not much firewall left to mount the tank,,it mounts like the dragonfly motor with the same screws holding it on also hold it together...Rog

yes it is a regular clunk and fuel line too

Rog, the push button vent is the one I'm talking about! That it's missing in the stock picture above is just too funny!

its not missing, its not on that kind of tank (good thing you have beer for an excuse) the extended tank has a vent post, not curved (like the pic above) but straight up, AND a spring button to push when filling the tank and a flexible clunk line and it is in 2 pieces so if could remove the line easily....Rog

No beer dude. Both my smaller ones had the little post! It's on all of'em that I've seen. You can't fill it through the vent tube without it. (can't take it loose from the engine either)

Mine looks just like the one in the picture. They must have changed it at some point.

Sorry dude, mine is like Bipes, no spring on the little tank (neither of my two had them)! you just point the engine down and fill through the vent line line..Rog

Hey Rog,

Does the norvel tank seal any better than the dragonfly tank?

In a word , YES..it has a small rubber(ish) grommet for a gasket in stead of the Harley shield paper gasket on the dragonfly

Hi fellows,

I don't see these Norvel tanks on their website. Just where do you get one? Thanks.
