Hey guy's I've been designing a 1/2A ship around an old ace foam wing that I had lying around. Is it ok to use something like this to enter in the contest?

Hey iD...like Bipe, lots of us have an electric plane or 2 and I go and visit the electric forums too,but this contest was designed the .049 glow engine,,we did raise it to .061 ,,your welcome to hang out here, this comes up every year though about the small electrics and 1/2a engines being the "smaller ones"..sorry to hear about your troubles with flying fields,,the one closest to me is on an old landfill and cant be built on, so Im not worried,,,build a plane like Bipe said , put a $7 cox product engine on it ,,enter it, fly it ,clean it off and put your brushless back on it...Rog,,
Half-a Hec regularly entertains us with models that he electrifies ...while I regularly entertain these guys with models that I crash.........oh yeah just put a norvel .074 in a Goldberg Tiger 400 park flyer havent tested it yet.....stay tuned for better weather .....

Here's a another one. In case it helps your search, the constant chord and tapered chord wing part numbers are AS6074 and AS6073 respectively.

RE: 2006 Design Contest Official rules
Hello all,
I knew I shouldn't have gotten on this site again. You guys fire me up and make me want to build again!!
I am going to enter the challenge this year. I have not come up with an idea as of yet, but I do have some dreams. I hope I am not writing checks with my mouth that my ***** can’t cash!
Finding the time is almost impossible, so keep the flames down to a low roar if I lag behind.
As for 2cents worth of input....
This started out as a very friendly contest. Great people and lots of fun. It should be kept that way as much as possible. We need to have some rules, but too many could take some of the fun and people out of the challenge.
There is a truism that says: "the cream always rises to the top", and it is never as true anywhere as it is here. In the past there has been no doubt as to the names of the giants of the hobby and of this challenge, so most of the problems about scaling down or up gets muted anyway. I say just build it and we'll know.
Giving the lion’s share of votes to participants will assure that an easy plane with a pretty trim won't win over a very tricky and well done entry. Things have always worked their selves out and just declaring what you are doing and showing the steps as they happen gives everyone a clear idea of who should be given bragging rights.
As for me, I am just happy to rub shoulders with the great bunch of guys on this site, and winning is way down the list of reasons I enter.
Sure there will be light hearted trash talk, but it is amazing how open and helpful everyone has been.
Secrets are few and most designs would be yours for the asking. If someone has invested a lot of time and effort in their plans and they don’t think giving them away is fair, I can certainly respect that. Some (like me) won’t have a set worth giving away, unless you can read crayon on a napkin!
When this gets rolling again, it will become very clear who is slopping over with talent and ideas.
Sorry to ramble and let the games begin!

Welcome back MR F:
The design challenge is where the dreams are! Don't worry about the crayon drawings, I use the same whenever I can't find my big fat pencil. We will look forward to seeing your ideas.

Hi Bipe!
Well I've still got a large box full of sticks left over even after accounting for the wood needed to build your 1/2a bipe stick so would you mind counting me in on this contest?
Things are pretty hectic with the move but I'm sure I'll have enough time to design and build something before the deadline.
Cheers,
Alex

It's supposed to end on April 30th, but we've always extended it in the past. I haven't done anything other than buy some covering. Too many other things going on right now.

Apparently, according to some folks in another thread I frequent, there were some repairs being done to the server, or the site itself last P.M. and there were some issues. Anyway, that explains Matchlessaero's and my lost posts, and a few others besides. Don't like to be a gossip repeater, cause its often incorrect, but thats what peeps were saying. Would explain the glitch.
