RE: 't run too long.20% Nitro for OS 40FP
Ok, ok, relax everyone.. don't take things too seriously. I tried this little experiment on a couple flights to find that the ol' 1/2A Redskins plane just wanted to corkscrew around. Way too much torque for the little guy. CG of course was way off and I had to add serious weight in the tail. Honestly, I wonder if I'd of had a successful flight only using half throttle. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmm?????
Anyway, no real damage and I've already "de-mounted" the beast. It was interesting to see the discussion though.
Doesn't hurt to experiment and learn. Who knows, someday I'll be fortunate enough to design likeable/workable designs and help others as Patrick does .

I think it would have been flyable if you nailed the CG, it would have meant moving the firewall back near the leading edge of the wing. The balsa spars would have snapped on the first dive, though. Tims' description of the run away plane reminded me of a ST .15 powered missile I built last year, [did a build thread]. It went out of control at 100 mph, and flew nice and level on its' own until it was out of sight. All I could do was pray that it didn't hit anything. 99.9% of everything I've ever crashed cork screws right in, this one didn't. I had my name and address inside also. This taught me a very inportant lesson, NEVER put your name and address inside a plane that you think might leave the yard at 100! And always wipe your finger prints off before launching, too!
