During the building I discovered some small faults. After correction I might put them on the forum.
The plane:
span: 308mm
length: 249mm
weight (ready to fly): 92 grams
servos: Jamara Atom Blue
Receiver: ACT Pico 4uP Digital ( 4 channel receiver with programmable fail safe option)
power supply: 2 LiPo 240mAh cells (7.4V) and a (home built) low drop regulator to lower the voltage to 5V
The main part of the construction 1 mm balsa.
The entire plane is covered with Oracover (standard thickness) which gives a lot of strength to the thin sheet so it can be considered as a part of the construction. It is heavy but you don't use that much on a small plane like this.

Think we could twist your arm into making plans available? You'll have to give a flight report. What is the all up weight?

To all you hungry vultures cirkeling around: the plans are almost finished.

What a sweet little bipe. Yeaaaaarrssss ago I built TF Hot Kanary, then started to build a tiny version for an .010. Unlike you, I never finished it... I still have the fuselage. Now I'm inspired. MJD

Thanks for the suggestion, Bipe Flyer.
To all:
The plans can be found on the site: http://groups.msn.com/12Aalltheway
As I write this I have to say that you will find a lot of details that are not fully worked out. But it should be possible to produce some kind of Pitts using them.
If the proto gives me enough hope to build another one I'll take a second look at the plans.
Success and have fun!

RE: Pitts Special .010
I don't like it anymore.......
The Pitts is gathering dust after replacing a cracked backplate of the fuel tank (new engine, poor quality injection molding, looks as if the plastic was too cold when it was processed).
The weather is still too bad to fly: strong wind up to 6-7 Bft. It should be spring by now......

That sure is a great job you did! Even those tiny servos look BIG inside that little plane. I don't have any experience with such tiny planes, but I would think that 90 grams is a very good weight for that plane. Good luck when you get the engine repaired and have a calm day to fly it.

A very cute little model.
The built in tank won't fly inverted anyway. Far better to just use the little mounting plate option and a small party balloon tank so there's no airbubbles or clunk weights or overall heavy plastic tank to worry about. The balloon tank will also give you a good 3 to 4 minutes of flying vs only 90 seconds.
Did your engine come with the non tank backplate? If not I think I have a spare I can part with.
And yeah the Oracover is very heavy. I'll bet you could easily have saved 10 gms by using a different finish technique. And at this size that's a lot.

RE: Pitts Special .010
Finally the weather went better.
Today I did a few flights with the bipe. I had to make the movement of the control surfaces larger, and now it flies quite well.
It is not as fast as I expected and even glides nice after the engine stops.
I lost a couple of propellers ( where did my skills go? Still some rusty fingers after the winter break?) but I proved
that the construction can cope withe a lot of bad handling.....I guess I have to look for some high grass....

That's a nice piece of work! Big towels too!
I'm glad I made someone happy and I hope you enjoyed working on it.
The CG on my Pitts is still in the same place as marked on the drawings. Since I am still waiting for some new props I haven't flown since my las post. Therefore I also didn't have the opportunity to experiment on shifting the CG.
### Graupner sells the props over here ......or better doesn't sell[:'(]... This week I am going to order directly at Cox if they still have them.
I know this is not the right forum for the electric ones but could you tell a bit more about your version ?
Did you make changes to the basic construction, did you miss important things on the plans[:@], what can be improved[&:], etc.etc ?
Please tell us about your flights!
