Default .074 or .15 engine for this plane?

I just bought a AKM model p 40 warhawk E plane http://ak-models.com/electric_p40.htm

Do you guys think i can stuff a AP engines 15 in the cowl or just stick with a .074 norvel or a AP .061? the 15 would weight about 2 ounces more than a gws 400 with gearbox. the 061 and 074 norvel would be about the same or less weight.

Are the AP engines good reliable engines? how does the 061 compare to a norvel 074.

the AP061 is a bit less powerfull than the Norvel 061, the Norvel074 is little better than most .10ci motors , ited be as good as the AP15 but lighter.

if you build it light with light RC gear the AP061 will be fine , if not the Norvel074 will rip it along .

grant,

Just know that the "brown" is painted over plastic covering. You might want to contact them to see if it's fuel proof.

Later,

I'd go with the .074. Way more power than the AP .061 and nearly as much as the AP .15.

Grant, part of the advertising of the Norvel .074 is that it is the weight of an .07 with the power of a .10..dont know about the AP .09 but Enya's are notoriously heavy engines....Rog

A friend of mine has the AP .09. Same case as the AP .15 with a different piston and head. Way heavier and less power than a Norvel .074. The .09 puts out .25hp and the .074 puts out .38hp.

Grant,
An AP09 will swing a 7x3 at around 14,000rpm IF its a good one, the Norvel074 will swing the same prop at approx 16,000rpm and is much lighter. I have am AP09 it only makes 11,600rpm with the 7x3 a dissapointment, which I am led to beleive is not uncommon.
