Cox Engine Venturi Sizes
I have found that most Cox Baby Bees have a .059" dia. venturi.
The Golden Bees have a .069" dia. venturi & the Black Widows have a .078" dia. venturi.
This was obviously done to improve performance as each has more power than the previous one.
Has anyone got experience drilling out Pee Wee 020 venturies & how successful was it? I do not want to ruin good back plates if someone has already tried it.
I have some 020 RC planes ( 62 Schoolboy, 66 Shoestring, & 66 Pipsqueak) that would like a little more oomf & TD 020's are not readily available.
Thanks,
Bob Gardner

TOP FUEL PEE WEE'S
Hi Bob,
I have modified several Black Widows and Texaco's by drilling out the venturi. There is a noticeable performance increase. On the downside... the run time wasn't long enough to have fun, unless you use an external tank...
I run 30%nitro/castor in my "unmodified" 020's.. makes for an easy starting little powerhouse.... I could put my index fingertips on the leading edge of my small stunt plane and it would hold itself there vertically... plenty of thrust from the 4.5x3 cox prop.
If you need more power than a peewee on 30% send a pm or email me...
