My New IC 12 Jet
My latest IC .12 Jet.....
Will test fly this weekend.
IC Sc 12
Prop 8*6 or 7*4
Wing area 290 sq inches
Weight a bit heavy at 28 ounces.
Wing loading about 14 ounces, need to get that down to 10 to 12.
But she looks good.
I feel a tractor version coming on.

I built a sheet wing delta with the same color scheme in the mid '70, it was more than I could fly[:@] in those days, very fast roll. Yours really has a nice shape, a little Multiplex twin jet influence? Very cool!

RE: My New IC 12 Jet
Last .15 pusher I built (OS .15 FP) I used Zinger 7-4's and they worked out quite well. IMHO 8-6 is way too much load for a typical .15 let alone a .12. Especially in a pusher configuration, the larger prop is going to encourage the engine to run hot on the ground, whereas the 7-4 as a lighter load should run cooler. MJD

RE: My New IC 12 Jet
Thanks for all the positive feed back.
I will post some plans once I have resolved a few issues with the design.
The plane is a little heavy at the moment and needs to loose a few ounces.
But will post a first flight report very soon (next week if the weather behaves its self this weekend).
And as regards props ideally a 6*6 pusher would do but cant get the props...so will use the 7*4 at 16000 rpm which should give it a good 60-70 mph.

RE: My New IC 12 Jet
Well first two flights not good...engine problems... to be presise engine feul delivey problem.
So back to work bench. Problem resolved with a thicker fuel pipe.....now engine runs very well so will solo this wekend and have not been idle have built the following other eletric versions and a ducted fan version is nearly complete with 700 Watts of power about 2.5 to 3 pounds of thrust.
Here are a few pics

RE: My New IC 12 Jet
After much ado about a launch... a will not be asking Jimbo to launch my planes again...he he but she fies managed two good flights but manged to go dead stick on last and stalled her at about ten feet and she nosed in but not to bad just a small repair to sides of the fuse where battery is located.
Need to test her more maybe a bit nose heavy so might adjust battery with repair and little engine screams on a 7*4 but looks good at 70 mph. Not the fastest but may try 8*6 which should make for a nice 100 mph.
The SC 12 ABC runs like a demon and likes to rev at the top end...
