If you remove the Choke Tube back plate from a Sure Start and graft on an 8cc Conversion tank (Cox part #1995) what would you have created?

Skaliwag, what size is the venturi? That might be all the difference between a modern Blackwidow and Babe. If you've got a numbered drill set, and can tell what size bit fits, I can do some comparisons with the older motors that I have.

Stupid Estes really screwed up the line. I have seen packages for Black Widows with engines that had plain unanodized crankcases plus I have seen packages for Babe Bees with engines with the black plastic 8cc tanks. So I guess skaliwag the answer to your question your engine would be a Babe Bee with a 8cc tank For what it's worth the tank venturi hole on a BW should be .082.

LAter,
Tim

I may have to try pressing out the spray bar and drilling out a Sure Start with the .081 drill bit.. Just to see what happens.
