Default "Parents" of 1/2a Models

This isn't strictly a 1/2a post, but it's somewhat related as the planes I'm posting are the "parents" for a lot of the 1/2a planes that we fly, and besides I wanted to share some cool pics with everyone!

My Wife got me a 20 min acrobatic glider ride for my bithday and I did the ride yesterday. We flew up to 4,000' and then did loops, barrel rolls, wing overs, and cuban eights all the way down to 1,500'. The pilot was great and did everything I asked, except for letting me grab the stick and try a couple of maneuvers myself! Pulled around 4.5 gs on one loop, and spent a lot of time inverted and pulling negative gs. Very, very fun and highly recommended!

So now for the pics! The airport was a nice grass-strip with a lot of Stearman bipes and Piper cubs and other fun stuff. Enjoy!

Wow! Lotsa stuff you don't see floating around the average hangar! That oughta keep him interested. Just don't buy any new video games .

Sure you can buy videogames- the F15sim, the F117sim, the F22sim, the c152sim... then the big guns with AcesHigh online WW2
get him flying on the screen, and then ask if he wants to do if For Real with a TX

Yup, already heading down that path. He's mastered MS Combat Flight simulator and he shoots me down as often as I shot him down in multi-player mode. We've got FMS software hooked up to our RC transmitter and have him working on landing patterns. I've had him on the buddy box a couple of times but I can see his knees shaking while he's flying!

Now if I could just pry his hands off the Gamecube and Gameboy...
