Where can I buy a Nelson plug adapter for the Norvel .061 and .074 engines?

For the 061 you can get a Galbreth head for Nelson plugs from Larry Driskill at Kitting it togeter
for the 071 see this thread :- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_4443491/tm.htm

CONFUSED?? Norvel 0.074

Rather than doing some metalwork can I buy a CS/Brodak plug insert and use that with standard glow plugs on my Norvel 074?

It seems you will loose performance using a regular type glow plug but a Nelson Plug or a OS or Rossi turbo plug will get the same type of performance as with the stock Norvel button plug. Hopefully someone will make a Nelson or turbo plug head for it.

The plug that came with my brand new .074 Norvel is leaking around the stem[:@]. I haven't tached this engine yet but I ran a Cox 5.5X4 on it and it sounded good. Again with only 5% nitro fuel. To start the engine I leave the needle at it's last running setting, I put my finger over the intake, flip the prop ten times, remove my finger and flip another ten times, attach the glow driver and it's off and running in one or two flips.

Now I have to contact John and see if he can made me a kit for the .074.

The CS/Brodak motors dont use a plug insert, the plug screws into the cylinder head fin unit, to use turbo or neslon plugs in a CS/Brodak you must either get a nelson head for the Brodak- different size to the CS, or modify your head by either drilling and rethreading to suit nelson or turbo plugs or drilling it out to take a plug insert .
So re the Norvel 074 the only option is to make a nelson or turbo plug insert as non are yet commercialy available.

Not sure but I beleive an old Novel button can be drilled and tapped to suit turbo plugs
