New here
Ok, I am new to the 1/2a thing and started building a rickets short kit that I bought from Rog, my question is what is the difference in the cox engines; Killer Bee, Baby Bee, Black Widow, Texaco, Sure Start...they say they are .049 so I was just wondering what the difference is...also where would be a decent place to buy them from, I haven't seen to many places that sell them....
thanks!

RE: New here
Well I dont know much about cox but since no one else has posted I will...The difference on the engines is (1) cases, (2) the intake/exhaust ports. thats about all I know of.
Cox has shut down prodution on all but (I think) 2 you can find a few on places like slecthobbies.com

Well, you can find them on the bay or the cox site or Virginia hobbys or I could look through my engine box and pick out 1 or 2 for ya , but only if you stop calling it a rickets...dont worry I can fix you up Bill..will bring one wednesday to the field...Rog

RE: New here
Killer Bee: high RPM, small props
Baby Bee: single bypass, low power
Texaco:low fuel usage, low rpm, big props
Blackwidow:sport engine, two intake bypasses, 5x3 or 6x3 prop
SureStart: pretty much a Blackwidow without the integral tank
That's a pretty generic description. But for the kit you've got, a black widow (or Surestart) is what you want. (or even an old Golden Bee)

Man that's pretty embarrassing not even using the right name...I think rickets is some sort of vitamin deficiency...I must be watching too much of the discovery channel...
Thanks for the replies that clears up a lot!
Rog- Thanks for the offer! I will be there next Wed morn!
