An eaqsy way to beef up the landing gear is to get a 1/2A one from Tower Hobies. It's much stronger than the stock one. My stock one broke when I was trying to rebend it.

I'm flying mine as a electric conversion after deciding the OS Max 10 FSR wasn't enough engine. About 350 watts of fun!

Somewhere, I saw a smaller Extra (similar to this one) sporting plug-in wings.

But you're right, better to make as one and wrap with fiberglass.

Thanks for the input.

ORIGINAL: MinnSpin

BUMP (5 years later)....

Would an OS 20 Four Stroke be too much engine for this airframe? Planning to beef up the landing gear and to make the wings ''plug-in'' rather than one-piece.

Thanks for your input.
