Default Half-Wit 15

I have been concentrating on small backyard fliers lately. After building a couple of Half-Wits and having a ball with them, I was wondering what a 15 size might be like. I have a used Magnum 15 to try. After thinking about it, I decided to try and make one with a tapered wing though.

After getting the wing together, it looks a bit big for a 15. We will see how it turns out.

Got the fuselage done. It seems that the CG should work out good.

Got it together and covered. Unfortunately, it came out a bit heavy. 25.8 oz. I may need to go to a 25 size engine. I will need to try it out as is and see what happens.

Default RE: Half-Wit 15

I got a couple of flights in today. With the long tail moment, it hovered nicely. I was pleased that the engine would pull it out of a hover nicely. Loops from a hover were about 15 feet and about the same from straight and level with some speed. Nice rudder authority. I will be leaving everything as is.

The only problem was landing. I either need to install bigger wheels or cut my grass.

Looks good, real good.

.15's can be a lot stronger then ya would think. It should fly that very nicely and I doubt you will have any problems.
