Jr Falcon question
I just downloaded the plans for a jr Falcon. It printed off several sheets of paper and then I have to put it together like a puzzle. What I'm not sure of is it to scale, I mean the same size as orginial. Can someone that has a jr falcon plane or plans for one measure the wing span and the length of the fusealoge? (sp) I will compare those figures to my prints. I don't want to make it too small or large. Thanks for your time.

RE: Jr Falcon question
Hi Bob. Thanks for the info. I'm not familiar with the mega 16/15/5. Electric? Also I see you have foam core. I assume thats for rigideity? Good idea. Another thing I didn't realize is I see from the ebay ad that it can take up to an .074 engine. I'll bet its a real screamer with the max size engine. I'm thinking about putting a wasp .061 on mine. I've been flying a q-tee quit a bit lately with a tee dee .049 and screams right along. I'm hoping the wasp works as good if not better. I weighed the 2 motors and the wasp w/muffler is 10 grams heaver. I don't know what that os in ounces but its not very much at all. Its a lot less than the little wrench for the tee dee.
The instructions with the wasp .061 says practical rpms are 3000 to 25,000. Thats more than the tee dee. I'd think to get 25000 rpm from the wasp it would be a small prop not much pitch. Its gonna be interesting. It also says with a 2 oz tank it will fly 15 to 20 mins at full throttle. Thats 3 times as long with my tee dee on a 2 oz tank. If so I might be able to get away with a 1 oz tank. I guess I don't have to fill the 2 oz one.

Boy howdy, that's a fine looking Jr. Falcon you've got there Bob!

It sounds like you have the Gene Rock plans from Dave Fritzke's website. They will print out at the original size.
The Mega 16/15/5 is roughly equivalent to a Norvel .074. A Wasp should do nicely, but don't expect 25,000 rpms and 20 minutes at full throttle on the same flight. Your flight times will vary depending on the prop and the fuel. I've found that a Norvel .061 will run 13 mins wide open with a 6X2 APC and 25% Nitro/20% Castor fuel. I'd use the 2OZ tank - you don't have to run it dry every flight.
Here's a video of Bob's Jr Falcon.

RE: Jr Falcon question
Well I fired up my wasp today. It is a .061. I couldn't wait any more, had to try it. That is one nice running motor. Idles good, starts good, I don't know what top rpm is but I'll check after its run a little. It is a little noisyer than I'd prefer but no big deal.
