i have a question about the norvel company, are they still gone from the face of the earth or are they back and exporting engines. my LHS has a norvel .061 big mig R/C plane in stock that i plan on buying but i havent seen or heard of anything saying sig was importing engines again so did they just stumble upon this engine or are norvels available again.

It's probably old stock. If you want it go buy it. Plugs are not insurmountable. You have the option of a Nelson head and plug or a turbo head and plug. Granted it adds to the cost of the motor but 1/2A motors are getting scarce and the Norvells were some of the very best available.
