Default Sun Fli IV w/.074

I flew my 36" Sun Fli IV yesterday with my Norvel .074 in it. I had been flying it with an AME .061.

All I can say is, Wow! This plane really flies great now. Unlimited vertical, smooth throttle control and it's plenty fast. I upped the throws a little and flew on high rates. This is a fun plane. I'm going to be flying it a lot. I'm bringing it to the 10/27 event and I'll let y'all try it out.

If anyone wants my CAD plans PM me. I'm now convinced that it's worth getting laser-cut parts made for it. If you have an .074 this is a great plane to put it in. If enough people are interested I can order a run of parts.

Can't wait to get a try at the sticks with the .074 in place.

Should be a good platform to practice pattern routines.

Of course it was dead calm yesterday, but, it's still really hard to believe a small plane like this can fly as smoothly and as stable as a larger plane like my Super Kaos. What's nice is that it flies in a much smaller air space. Now I want to build a new one with rudder and retracts.

That's a sweet looking design. Very clean.

Just let me know when the kits are available and for how much. If it is anything like your Sure Shark, I'll take it.

Yeah, the Norvel .074 is the 800lb gorilla of small sport engines...Some buds and I bought 10 a while back (6 were mine), and I have one flying a Global SST.09 ARF, one is mounted in an ACE Simple Staggerwing I haven't finished yet, and one flies my Sig Ninja at an AUW of 35oz! What's more, it will pull loops from level flight!
