Default Foggy Bottom Boys

Well, everyone braved the weather and showed up at Copperhead this morning. It turned out to be a great little session for BSARGE, BanjoAirplane, rog and me. The first flights were a bit of a challenge since the planes were almost disappearing in the fog. By late morning it was burning off. I had to open my mouth and comment how much rog's piloting skills were improving. Within seconds he went in. It really makes you believe in things like jinxes. BanjoAirplane tore up the sky with his Twister and BSARGE was putting on a show with his Uproar even though he hadn't flown in a while. You wouldn't have known. I had a couple of my usual landings that fall just shy of the runway. I think my depth perception is failing me. I found this nice transmitter at the field which I've already put on eBay. There's a photo of it below. Funny thing is, it looked just like rog's. Somehow I forgot to get the camera out until after rog left. Sorry, rog!

As usual it was a lot of fun! Dave's SS with the new wing really moves!! It would be my choice for a reedy race.....Dave & Rodney braved the fog first and to say the pucker factor was present would be an understatement[X(]. It's a good thing both of them are instrument rated! Bummer about Rog's stick....he was flying really good until.....[&o] but at least the damage seemed to be minor....looking forward to the 27th!

Bill, I'm not sure who is getting more mileage out of their Rivets - you or me. It's good to see it still flying.

Dave, I now call it depth deception.

What is the red winged plane? It looks a lot like a SkyDrill or Kaotic but the wings aren't quite the same...... A different Kaos variant?

Well we had a good time, other than my 2 crashes...both could have been field repairs, the first my .15 trainer...well I was just trying to show off too soon after takeoff and rolled and went inverted and got disoriented....the second my stick .074 was flying great and I was close to running out of fuel, but there is an area of the field at 1:00 where for some reason I get disoriented and it went in....or it could be that troll I saw run under a bush when I went to retrieve my plane, I swear it was holding a radio[&:]...good thing I left first so there was someone behind to get my radio!! Still cant believe I left it behind....Rog

Don't feel bad. Bill left soon after you. But, he left his transmitter, 1/2A fuel and his starter batteries! Rodney jumped in his truck and chased him down before he got out of the gate.

chevy43, that's my Sun Fli IV I built sometime in '06. It looks like a Kaos because it's the plane Bridi designed right before the Kaos. There are a few differences like the straight TE, lack of subfin and a curved fuselage underside.

hfenn, I hope it worked. We'll see the next time I deadstick.
