CP; I thought of you last night
Anyway, I was flying a low-winger inverted against about a 10 mph wind. I did a hard up, (down elevator) and the two wing halves snapped, folded, and fluttered to the ground. The fuse lawn-darted into a bean field at a perfect ninety degree angle to the horizon... I instantly thought of Combat Pigg's little ditty. "If you don't fold one every now and then, you're building too heavy" Well, there's no chance of that happening here! In fact, next time I think I'll weigh it down a little more with some wing tape.[>:] Ross

Combat Pig doesn't know it yet, but someday he'll be known as the 1/2a Ghandi!! I too have lived by his rule of thumb since I have been to RCUniverse.

"Mahatma Pigg", yes it does have a certain ring to it.
Hey, what if he went on a hunger strike to draw attention to our cause to encourage someone to start making Norvels again.
Hey youse all, let's get behind this initiative and get him to quit eating (liquids OK), someone call CNN.
OK, seriously, I too listen when CP talks. It is good to have knowledgeable folks like him on board here.

I totally agree... its just too darned easy to build one that is too heavy and lighter just always flies better for most aircraft.

I DO look like Buddha, you just haven't seen me with my shirt off. [:@]
Skaliwag, if she wasn't such a lovely lady, I'd fire her for taking such a bad picture Let her know that she's on probation.
The saying comes from those who have come before me.....I'm just passing it on. The saying is competition driven, but it applies to our little planes.
On Pipe, congratulations and welcome to the club. May I interest you in some carbon fiber, Sir?
My first ever batch of 100 mph C/L combat planes flew great but had the nasty habit of self destructing with no warning, usually within the first 5 minutes of life. One of the old hands in the sport came over and consoled me with that now famous quote, [while I stood there beet red after being Dq'd from a match]. I guess a single 1/16" ply spar was totally nuts / stupid for such a plane, but the guys who are my Gurus got a kick out of it, at least.

Notice Skaliwag has his face out of the picture? Maybe he's the one that looks like Buddha?
While CP hates it when I say it, the little voice in my head that talks when I'm building is his. Mostly it tells me to have another beer, but sometimes it has some good advice.

I'm suprised to see his face! I though he was like the indigionous tribes of the Amazon basin who were in fear of loosing internal Mojo to the image captured by the camera. The whole steal your face thing.
I showed proper respect when I met him and only captured the hairy wrist we have all become so fond of seeing.[sm=bananahead.gif]

Soooo ..... When you're in CP's presence and he kneels down, do you have to kneel down too so that you are slightly lower and not look directly at him? It does show respect to the guru.

Vic, just for saying that, next time you come down I'm going to introduce you to my wife. We'll need an address to send what's left back home.[sm=lol.gif]

Since my wife has taken up Triathlons as a hobby I am more worried about her than anyone else. It's the first time in my life I have been scared of a girl that I seriously thought could kick my butt. The bad part is I can't even run fast enough to get away.[sm=bananahead.gif][sm=drowning.gif]
