Default Flying over a subdivision

Since some have mentioned having a bad day today. I had a good save today.
I put in one 15 minute flight out of my front yard just as the sun was going below the tree line. The wind was calm, a perfect time to fly. I have a 5 acre lot and all the lots on my side of the street are the same, so there is plenty of open space. The flight went perfect, except for one thing. I got disoriented when the plane was going away from me. It looked just like it was coming toward me for a few seconds. I caught my error in time to make the correct turn and bring it back. The bad part is the plane was well over the subdivision across the street. If I had lost the plane, it would have probably done some damage to say the least.
I guess I will have to stick to very small planes in my yard and find a better place for my larger plane.
