My Queen Bee... Help
Well I tried a Zinger 7x3.5 prop on my Queen Bee using 25% nitro and got about 9300 on the tach. Lighting was poor but it was the most common number displayed. It did not sound like it was revving very high either. It pulled the fusalage of the Lazy Bee and I think it would fly but I may just need to try that 6x3 I have to see how it feels.

Okay the 6x3 spun around 14,000 and pulled harder but after a short time of running it went "super rich", yes that's a technical term, and was blowing raw fuel out it's pipe and emtying the 2 oz tank in less than a minute. I may need some experienced help here[] I am still very much a 1/2a rookie[&o]

'Stang, those numbers seem a little low, but I haven't ran mine yet. MH-Aerotools said that it should turn as well as a TD .051! Anyway, check and make sure the tip of the needle is still there.

Stang,
Never could get mine to even run on the 7 x 3 - so you were doing good w/ the 7 x 3.5. I think I ended up doing a smaller prop - APC 5.7 x 3? It needs to rev up to get any power - try a smaller prop.

Further observation during a daylight engine run gave 15,900 on the 6x3 with very good pull but I had to hold the needle valve. The engine vibration would spin the needle valve out richening the mixture explaining the blow out of fuel last night. Do you guys think a layer of tephlon tape on the threads would cure this or is there a better fix?

If you want about an extra 1k RPM all you have to do is get rid of the lame wood zinger and put on a MAS or a APC. Zingers are terrible in small sizes!!! Try a 7x3 MAS or APC and you will see what I mean.

use some fuel tubing slip it over the neadle valve this will keep it from turning from the vibration you should have no problems flying it with that engine even wit the 7x3

Stang, a lot of these engines were used as fishing lures by the original owners, so it might just need the carp blown out of it, then it will run OK.

I would like to get the carp out, I have seen the use of a variety of products including "laccquer thinner" but I have no idea what that is.
Perhaps you can recommend a product that would fill the bill.
