Tuned pipe animation
I ran across this website today which shows the 2 stroke tuned pipe effect. Nothing new but interesting to watch. Just scroll down to the bottom of the page once it's loaded. http://w3.one.net/~jschust/animations.html

Tuned pipe animation
I knew the theory behind a tuned pipe, but if a picture is worth a thousand words, then an animiation must be worth ten thousand words.
Good link. I'll have to give my Norvel tuned pipe a try.

Tuned pipe animation
Neat...
It seems that the exhaust port would let the fuel mixture out before it is closed by the piston, but I also see the expansion chamber pushing air back into the cylinder. Very interesting to see what happens.

cool
yea cool, they are showing a loop scavenged, reed valve intake one just like most dirt bikes, very efficent and a broad power band not like the early piston port engs. witch cannot take full advantage of a pipe,
