House of Balsa 1/2A kits
Is it worthwhile considering these kits for building? at $65 they seem expensive... are they better hand-launched? What type of flyer (level of experience) do they best fit, like sport or more experienced? I was thinking the p-47 or the FW-190 primarily...
Just wondering and thanks!

My HOB P-47 is a well-behaved plane with no bad tendencies, although it will tear up the sky at high throws and throttle - It's a good choice for a "first" low-wing plane and definitely fun for the sport flier. Hand launch for sure. The Ace Simple Series kits run between $40 - $50 and are much less scale plus they're heavy, so HOB kits are a good deal at $65, IMHO.

PS - Several places are offering these kits for $45 plus shipping (Poncini Hobbies, Horizon Hobbies). Use Google shopping or similar.
