Black widow run problems
When I start up by Black Widow and set the needle valve right, it runs fine for about a minute but then sputers and dies and I can't start it again. The glow head is new and is tight (one shim), reed is not sticking, every thing is clean, using Sig Champian 15% nitro.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Kyle

Sounds like it is overheating and dieing out, a common problem. Try setting it just slightly richer and it will run rich untill about 1/3 of the tank is used up, then will lean out and run great for the last 2/3 of the tank.
I also like to use the 5 fin Texaco heads, they seem to give a more consistant run for long duration runs (in my sport rc planes).
Just a thought...

Andrew's probably right on but if you still have problems, try adding an extra glow plug shim or 2. Make sure the little rubber o-ring between the backplate and the venturi tube is still good also. Oops, also make sure the fuel pick up tube is pointing down to the bottom of the tank! They come set for u/c flying I think (fuel tube out to the side.)
