Snow much fun!
So, has anybody else been enjoying this snow that was dumped on the east coast?
We got about 6-8 inches and even though it was 23 degrees this evening, and blowing 10-15, I just HAD to go burn some nitro! [8D]
(Model is a Great Planes Trainer Twenty w/ a Saito .40)

Heh heh, not much torque reaction when you punch it for takeoff..! Looks like youse having fun.
I got the urge to fool with glow engines in winter out of my system decades ago unfortunately, as it is not exactly a novelty around here for several months at a time. Once in a while I venture out to fly/run something in winter, but very rarely these days. Lazy sod.

The Saito .40 is a perfect match for that airframe IMHO. Not quite enough power to hover, but will take off at half throttle, get ya outta trouble quick and will get up and boogie when asked to. FWIW, that's an APC 10 x 7 spinning around 10,800 static on 15% Wildcat.
Yea, I was having so much fun doing touch and goes that out of the five tanks I flew, I ran two dry in the air!
I've had skis on that plane all winter, and this is only the second time I got to fly in the snow, so yea, the novelty is still there.

RE: Snow much fun!
When I rose yesterday morning and beheld the idyllic Winter scene I got myself outside as quickly as I could.
I built a giant snowman in the front yard and had a triumphant snowball fight with the neighbor kids next door (school was closed).
then I hustled off to the field and flew touch-n-goes off the fluffy white surface for the rest of the day.
Next thing I knew - the fire was roaring and I woke up in the recliner. Whew, that was some dream!

Yeah, the dang kids wake up at 6 am and come into the paternal bedroom dressed in full sledding gear ready to wear out the new grass seed you sowed a few weeks earlier.
Is that the memory you have?
They had a ton of fun this morning, then I went to work.
