I seem to recall an old, Star Trek episode where one of the minor characters was listening to music on just an ear piece. No wires, no device attached to same. Then there was Picard poking away at a tablet like thingy on his desk. Someone had a good sense of the kind of progress we'd make. Imagine, this was the first example of an Apple computer. http://www.britannica.com/EBchecked/...consisted-of-a Yup, the first personal computer was a laptop.

What's to come? Electric cars??
Speaking of wooden computers and Star Trek... The Commodore PET prototype of was also made of wood and was on the market earlier in the same year the Apple was realeased. Although, the PET was sanded to a nice shape and painted. http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/maga...enceoct_77.htm There was a PET in Kirk's living quarters in the first Star Trek movie. http://www.commodore.ca/gallery/promo/Promo_Items.htm

Electric cars, probably - electric 18 wheel 80,000 lb semis - no way any time soon. Let's see what was that saying? "Drill here drill now".

OK now, this whole thread is getting silly. Next thing you know somebody will say that we will be flying model planes with no internal combustion engines, maybe even flying electric motors (ha ha ha that'll be the day). Stop this thread now before somebody thinks balsa wood will not used anymore (what would we build from: foam? ha ha ha ha).
